Forthex's Puxe Installer
« on: September 23, 2005, 10:26:00 PM »

Well, i've been away from the Scene for a while due to school, work, football, etc. So, as a major contribution to the Scene, i've decided to go out of the Xbox age with a bang. My project for the last 2 months on and off, and the main factor as to my abscence from the Scene, is at last being revealed:

Forthex's PUXE Installer

What is it?
Forthex's PUXE Installer is designed to be the ultimate companion to softmodding, no matter what your knowledge or skill level is. It is unleashx/evox script based, will be ran off of a form of disk media that a standard Xbox can read (CD-RW or DVD-R), and after the install, a GUI can be accessed at any time to modify/uninstall/use any features of PUXE.

What will some of it's features be
1) Add new functionality to softmodded Xbox's easily without the need for FTPing:
-------a)install common/essentail apps and emus (6 each), a new dashboard (5 total), and XBMC (as an app or dahsboard)
2) Unlike Slayers, have a post-install GUI (like Krayzies) that will allow users to:
-------a)reinstall/uninstall PUXE
-------b)make a backup of your real/virtual C drive, put a stock C drve on your virtual C, put a stock or softmodded C drive on the real C drive
-------c)change the ALL network settings of all of your PUXE installed dashboards/apps/emus AT THE SAME TIME
-------d)clear your cache (for Halo2 modders and the like)
-------e)E,F, and G drive wipe: Note, this is not a format any of the selected drives. It will just delete everything in the drive (except for the E drive wipe; the cache, udata, tdata, dashboard, and shadowc folders will not be deleted.)
3)teach you the absolute basics of softmodding in the install or post GUI
4)backup your eeprom, BIOS, etc.

Why is it only a work in progress
1) It's not that simple: Because i'm so busy, i need help. I need:
-------a)people who can write complicated/long scripts in UnleashX/Evox
-------b)people who are dedicated to helping n00bs/newbs
-------c)eventual file hosting on Xbins (or if it's too large, a torrent)
-------d)people who can make a logo and an evox/unleashx skin (by my general specifications)
-------e)eventually, beta testers

If you want to help out, please PM me with your email, and a solid reason why you want to help, in the the message title "PUXE development"; any other PM's that are PUXE related will be not read and deleted if they do not have that title. I already have a file hirearchy, notes, and some unleashx config.xml scripts that i will send to you. NOTE: I WILL NOT SEND ANYTHING THAT WAS BUILT WITH THE XDK. IF YOU ASK ME FOR ANYTHING BUILT WITH THE XDK, I WILL REPORT YOU TO A MOD/ADMIN!

I can really see this take off, please help! (Hell, even Slayer didn't do it alone!)

if you can't figure out what PUXE stands for, it's "Post-UXE"
