you can:

a: either make the rescue disc and use that to restore
b: ftp back a dash to E:\dashboard and then start over using the installers uninstall function
c: put in your exploitable game and then use the installers uninstall function
d: well there should be more options but the above seems to be the easiest

I don't know what you used but the virtual C was preventing it.

THIS tutorial doesn't completely remove it. It only hides the softmod dashboard.

2) I used a 'virtual c:', used an exploitable game + gamesave/installer.

# Things needed : exploitable game, original MS dash (from backup or Slayers (xbins)), PC + FTP COnnection.

* Colboot using your exploitable game
* Load the gamesave you used to mod
--> You should now have FTP access.
* connect to your xbox through FTP.
* Delete everything on C:
* Delete everything on E: , except E:\Tdata en E:\Udata

* FTP your original MS dash to C:
* Reboot
--> Your xbox boots now to original dash.
* DONE

your eeprom is a chip and has nothing to do with formatting the harddrive. If you want to backup your eeprom you need a mod on your xbox. If you don't have the eeprom backup you need to hotswap

Hmm, I downloaded slayers 2.6 and 2.7 and both seem to be corrupted. I tried to use daemon tools to mount it so I could get the files, that didn't work, even wasted a disc.

I'll try re-downloading them later 'n hope for better luck, but if this is not possible, is there any other way for me to get the MS-Dash files?

I'm trying to get into the 'usual place' but I'm not having much luck...

You can't view an Xbox ISO through windows.  Use QuiX to unpack them and get the MS Dash files.

Alright I'm good, I still had the ms dash stupid me, but I deleted some stuff 'n got a new menu when I rebooted which let me turn the soft mod off, which is good enough for me seeing as I just want to sell it.

Thanks for the help.

1) I used an autoinstaller. - I did but it didnt cooperate so some one helped me out. I know its running EvoX.

2) I used a 'virtual c:', used an exploitable game + gamesave/installer. (or 'What is virtual c? What are you talking about? But I did use a game to mod') - I recall using a game save and spending an hour or to on MSN with a guy who finally got my box modded.

Given these circumstances, should I FTP in, delete everything except the files/folders mentioned and then upload the xbox dash into C:\?

Yes. Cold-booting the game disc (SC, MA or 007AUF) disables the softmod (and hence the shadow C).
