Safe To Cold-boot After Halo 2 Update ?
« on: July 23, 2005, 06:45:00 PM »

Personally I've never cold-booted into Xbox Live but, is it safe after the latest update from Bungie? I'm pretty sure I read something about softmodding and Xbox Live on the news in XBOX-SCENE a couple of days ago.

QUOTE
Any slight modification including soft mods, Action Replay usage, and the like will be subject to the banning.

I took this from Game Informer Online... That's why I'm skeptic to enter Live, I reverted my drive to stock, and got the update. But I still want to run my emulators and XBMC, so I don't want to give up softmodding.  :(

You won't get banned, boot retail tho (coldboot/ndure) and you should be fine.

hey, i don't want to steal your post but i got a similar question.
I remove krayzie's softmod to install the new auto update, but now i'm wondering if its safe to reinstall krayzie's softmod and cold boot halo 2 to play on live?

They only scan for altered halo2 content. Nothing else.

So : if you didn't mess with your H2 files: yes you can.
