Cloning Using Xboxhdm
« on: July 05, 2005, 09:30:00 PM »

Ok, So I have a softmodded retail hdd, a 250GB hdd, and a v1.0 xbox. What I want to know is, if I use the "Clone HD" feature of xboxhdm, is it going to clone everything?

In other words, what I basically want to do is flash a new Eeprom that I just bought onto my Xbox, put everything that was on my original hdd on my newer and bigger hdd, and then put everything back together and have it still work on Xbox Live.

I signed onto Xbox Live for the first time before I ever even new about softmodding, so obviously, with this new hdd, I'm going to need a new Eeprom (explained in the marriage theory).

More specifically, to those that understand what I'm trying to do here, what is the best way to get this accomplished? Should I just make an .ISO of my original hdd with the NEW Eeprom on it and all the data on the disk from my original, and then make a new hdd from scratch, and then use Config Magic to flash the new Eeprom? Or should I use the cloning feature on xboxhdm?

I feel more comfortable making an .ISO since I've done it before, but it seems like it would be much simpler to "clone". Will cloning do all I need it to do?

Thanks in advance.
