xboxhdm should work fine. You set your bios to boot from CD?

If you've made the boot cd you already have all the files u need from the xbox hard drive so put the hard drive you are upgrading to inside the computer.

Ok. I've got a problem now.

I have a SATA drive on the primary SATA channel, however i disconnected it. I put my CD in CD#2 (on secondary IDE channel) - CD#1 won't boot.

I boot option #1 at the linuxiso screen and all goes well, however, once I get in and I type in "xboxhd" it says it cannot find cd.

Am I doing something wrong?

you're not using alcohol 120% to burn the ISO, do you? Try Nero. My buddy had the same problem when he burned the CD with alcohol, when he used Nero, the same ISO worked fine.

Well, successfully locked your HDD. It's just missing the dash files. Did you put your original retail dashboard files into linux\C befor building the iso? It sounds like you missed some files. You now have to unlock your hdd again, and put the dash files onto your C: drive.

*UPDATE*

I installed the original dashboard, however when I use the exploit and I put the eVox dashboard on my box it gives me error 21 when I reboot.

What is wrong?

What installer are you using? Or are you trying to "manualy" install it? If so, try krayzie's.

What I don't understand is that I'm using the same files and same method I used to mod my 8GB HDD, so why isn't it working for the 160GB?

Everything went fine in xboxhdm.

Are u using any gamesave exploits to mod your xbox?

Make sure that when you install krayzies that you don't have any previous game saves of the exploit you are using. So if you r using mechassault remove any other mechassault game saves and then put the one you want to use to softmod with.

So to be on the safe side get your xbox back to retail and then go to the memory function and delete all mechassault game saves. Then put the game save on their again and then it should work.
