You should probably read the readme...

When you power on the xbox with the eject button, you get access to a retail dashboard.  Therefore, you can pop in the game at that point and close the tray with no worries.  That's the upside of this hack compared to UXE, but if UXE is working for you, then don't worry about this.  Ndure is a little safer for live, though.

It's definitely worth playing around with for XBL, if you're experienced with UXE, which it seems like you are.  I just started a live trial for a test a week ago or so and I'm still not banned.

Yeah, you need to wipe your C completely, but it tells you how to do it.  Make sure you have a way back into the xbox with an exploitable game or similar.

The NDURE retail setup doesn't require you to wipe your C drive when going on live, however it is best to wipe it and THEN apply the setup (again, make sure you have a simple way in)

You can go on live by powering on with the eject button (this boots in "retail" mode, it boots the tray state detector and then removes the habibi sig from the kernel, returing it to fully stock BIOS)

Ofcourse you need to get XBL dash access first to add the account (return to stock) and if you upgraded your HD after you went on live, you will need a new eeprom (or use the stock HD)

Hmm finally tried the Ndure last weekend since I had some spare time. Funny thing I noticed was that after goin to the closed retail state (with tray open) you could trigger the exploit by closing the tray and accessing the live tab. This leeds me to believe that prior to accessing the C\xodash\xonlinedash.xbe (which is suposed to be patched against font flaws) it first triggers the C:\xboxdash.xbe so the exploit is activated.

Edit: after taking a shower and regaining my common sense I came to the conclusion that this simply can be explained that the live tab triggers the xonlinedash.xbe which then wants to load the xboxdash.xbe since it wants to report that something is wrong. (or something like that)

Well whatever it still is a nice feature.

I noticed there were some issues that have not been addressed:

Whats the story with the dashboard on the C: drive.

When and where do I need to worry about dash updates on being able to preserve the mod AND access to XBL.

This is confusing for me because I'm already modded.

What is the order for getting the mod to work with XBL"

IS it:?

1) Wipe C: drive
2) boot SC... FTP files
3) Set up XBL account?
4) Boot up with the eject button?

????

also... whats the story with "redoing the C: shadow"

if I change files on the C: drive (ie: change Dashboard) I hate to RERUN the Ndure installer on that folder...

it seems like a lot of work... :s or maybe I'm confused

(@krayzie: that's what caxtor reported in the relevant thread. I believed it to be due to a different reason, but you could be right ... it's difficult to be certain exactly how it's integrating.  Edit: I don't concur with your post edit's "simple explanation" though.)

@COTA-GodlyOne & clixo: I've tried 1.5 on my box now and am experiencing the same issue (which I suspect is ShadowC related)... ohmy.gif

@kingroach: maybe change the first post to begin "note: Ndure Installer is still under development and testing phase!" (regarding which, please also see this linked post).
