You probably have some extra files in your C drive and ms dash might be corrupted or some files missing. You should get 5960 dash files from slayers disk.. that way you know that all the files are there and no extra files are using space.

I figured out why I can't fit the 336 MB file on my C drive. It seems my C drive is only 335.95 MB in size. Is that normal?

Also, my xbox hdd has "X", "Y", and "Z" partitions, all three empty and 749.89 MB in size. Do you know what those are for, and if we can use those partitions to maybe store things like music or pictures, then build a shortcut to get to them through UnleashX? Just a thought. Seems like a waste of 2.25 Gigs of space to me.

shadowc is already copied.. 335.95 mb = 336 mb shadowc file. I guess then so far you were trying to recopy the whole exploit in shadowc..

Make a file called shadowC_off.bin and place it in E drive and reboot, shadowc will be disabled ( untill you keep the file there)..

no.. its showing the right info. Job of shadowc is to pretend as C drive. This way it protects valuable files in actual C drive. The shadowc.img file is 336 MB. Thats why all the application thinks C drive is 336 MB. You were uploading files to this shadowc drive not actual C.

now that shadowc is disabled, you can reapir the ms dashboard if you are still having problems running ms dash with eject button.

I just remembered.

. if you have any recent games you can get a fresh dash using dashupdate.xbe. Get fonts folder and Audio folder from C drive. Now delete shadowc_off.bin file. So, on reboot you will have shadowc enable. Copy Audio and fonts folder in the shadowcx and copy dashupdate.xbe and it will unpack a new ms dash in teh shadowc.

SUCCESS!! I extracted the 5960 Dash from the iso file in "AIDv3.0"and started Ndure again. Then I replaced the entire C drive. Works like a charm. Now that I am finished, should I delete the shadowC_off.bin file from E drive?

yah.. after you remove the file and reboot.. its better if you delete everything from shadowc drive and copy another copy ms dash in shadowc ( only ms dash).. unleashx and some other apps may require it.. buts its not necessary..good to see finaly you got it to work..

kingroach, i just realised something. the bios.xbe from the
e:\ndts directory does not support CD booting. is it intended
to be this way?

booting cd depends on your dvd-drive.. samsung boots few cd's but thompson and phillips drive doenst boot any cd's.

you mean turning the xbox with power button and its booting directly to dvd/cd.. it could be.

you can change the option with runtime config option.

I tired ndure and I am amazed! One thing though.. I am attempting to install a 250gb hard drive. How do I make it so "F gets all, no G"?

use nkpatcher .06 and using xbpartition ( a xbox program) format F drive with 32k clusters.

I have an X3 in there (using solderless adapter) temporarily. Can I just format the hard drive using that? ... or even evox?

Another question.. I have a 1.6, will I suffer any losses because of this?

i am trying to update my bios so i used ndure for PC and it works ok, it just sees my F partition as blank and doesnt see my G partition at all. i dont want to format because of all the stuff i had on them (its a 300gb hd).

i have the partitions enabled in the config.xml and I used the .67 nkpatcher, any ideas why it's not seeing the G part and the F appears blank?
