Help With Uxe For Hdm Install
« on: May 09, 2005, 04:07:00 PM »

just found something that may or may not be useful?

People have told me that the dash (evox, ava, or whatever) belongs in the E:\dash Folder, that directory exist, and evox is in there properly.

however, i was just looking at a friends 1.6 that was modded with this uxe installer, and in  C:\Dashboard, there is a dash (XBMC), where on my malfunctioning 1.0, there is no such directory.  His 1.6 also has no E:\dash directory (and my 1.0 does)

could it be that because i have no C:\dashboard directory making it not boot?
are there any other directorys that MUST be in C, or E for this to work.

his was modded with version 1, and i am trying version 1.2
would that change anything?

there is no C:\dashboard directory.. that dir probably he made sometimes.. xboxhdm makes dash in E:\dash folder.. now there is no difference betwen version 1 and 2.. I just removed that extra lines that was in the code..

I dont knwo  why you arent able to delete the E:\dash folder.. atleast one of the two option should work in any xbox ( they are same.. just option uses nkpatcher).. now you can load splinter cell that means your xbox is modded..so avalaunch or unleashx boot disk should work and you could ftp stuff in there...and even if you were installing one option over another ( first option1 and then 2).. teh package first delete everything first then then install everything..

Then it's just a network setup problem. They both have the FTP server enabled by default. I wouldn't hotswap, no need (esp if u have ur eeprom, with u should)

if you can't ftp or whatever reason but you can boot evox  etc... then you can fix it using a boot disk but rather than using evox in that disk, you can use unleashx .... and use the file manager to copy files that you need to copy... (no ftp neccessary)

in that boot disk, you need two things.
1. a dashboard that have a file manager like unleashx ...... (root of the boot disk aka, d:\default.xbe)
2.  a folder with the files you need to copy to your xbox (d:\somefiles\default.xbe)...

so copy the files you need to e:\dash folder=>not sure if the original maker of the packpage you use store dashboard in e:\dash  because I don't use people package since I like my stuff to in certain way.  It wouldn't hurt if you try to put the files in d:\somefiles to e:\dash\ etc....

if you try the file manager method and it doesn't work, you can use your eeprom if you have it, to unlock the hd and then use xbrowser in xboxhdm to copy the files you want to the hd etc...  if you don't have the eeprom yet, just hotswap.  However, I think you should make Unleashx boot disk and use its file manager.  btw.  pwrd to unleashx file manager is Xbox
