I have a drive that I was trying to setup using xboxhds, as I have many times before.  I managed to get the drive locked, but for some reason it did not work (error 7).  Now I cannot seem to unlock it using the same disc (ie. EEPROM.bin) that I used before.  I believe that I should be able to use TEAMASSEMBLY (or is it Xboxscene???) to unlock it.  How do I enter that manually.  I tried using unlockhd -p, but where do I put the password?  Thanks for the help.

I usually use atapwd from option 4 to do this, that way you can in turn disable security as well.

Error 7 is a timeout, check your jumper settings.

Errors 5 & 6 are releated to locking, 5 unlocked drive, 6 incorrectly locked drive.


unlockhd -p XBOXSCENE should unlock it, but it will relock upon reboot.

I tried using unlockhd -p XBOXSCENE and that did not work.  It gave an error that said something to the effect that it had to be 32bit (64 characters) and something about being a even number of characters as well which XBOXSCENE is not.  Any ideas?

I dont think you can enter a master password using un/lockhd

xboxhdm cannt unlock with master password.. u need to run atapwd.exe for that..

I assume that means that I need to use the boot to DOS with locking/unlocking capabilities.  Is that right?

yep, when it boots just type
atapwd

then a gui will popup and show you your drive, select it with the arrow keys, and hit enter. Then select security, and then unlock with master password.
Then select it again, and hit security, and then sleect disable with master password to disable locking.
