Well I'm stuck. I tried two different times to get it to work. Did step 1 to start, followed by unlocking and disabling security on the slave. Then did the clone doing a full clone once and a partion clone once. Both times they finished, so I locked it and exited. Put the new HD in and it gives me the error screen, but no number error.  Where do I need to go from here?

if you don't see error code on the screen, it could be that the HD setting is not right(slave instead of master). If it is locked wrong, there must be a code on boot.

Well it's a v1.0 do they give error codes? I have the jumpers on cable select, so I don't think that would be the problem. I'm not exactly sure where to go from here...

I have run out of idea then. I only encountered the master/slave once in an IBM drive which cable select doesn't work. If you can unlock the slave, it seems that things are working as is needed, as far as the locking/unlock goes.

I finally connected on 192.168.0.3 so thanks to everyone who came up with that gem!  But when I use login: xbox  password: xbox (doesn't show up, but still enters in from a previous post), it waits for a few seconds, then says "Login incorrect"

I've tried different combinations on capitalizations and lowercase, can anyone help?  I feel so close!

Sorry to bring this up... I know it's really old, but xboxhdm is not working for me and I wanted to give this a try. I want to install a 500 gb hdd. Will this work and if it will do I still have to use xbpartitioner to format the f drive with 32 bit clusters?
