well... it made the file.. but i get an error 21 when i try to load the shadowc..

any ideas?

if your default dash was set to run from the c drive then you will need it on the shadow c too... u should be able to cold boot boxplorer or a dash to make the changes

edit.. the app should copy your real c to the virtual c so it should not be a problem.. i think the app creates a 500mb file in e:\shadowc\ so check you have enough room

Maybe nkpatcher doesn't find it. Check the path with a hex editor, recompile it or try creating the file in e:\ (standardpath).

yeah, it was that i didn't have 500 megs free, but then i freed that much and it made a shadowc... when i try to boot with no cd, it gives me error 21

so how do i decompile the xbe i'm using? by that i mean what program do i use so that i can do that.. i have the compiling stuff asm or whatever, and i have another file that i can edit to make a new one.. but when i try compiling it, it gives me an error when trying to load the nkpatcher.inc

now, how do i get to the real dashboard? the normal xbox c drive? when I try to get there from the halo 2 to get to the live menu it still gives me an error 21..

i am very new to this softmod stuff if you can't tell

u have to use pbl (pheonix bios loader) boot cd or installed as an app.. look for "metoo-m8plus-v1.4.1.zip" as this works on all boxes... read the instructions and you will have to use the "evtool" included to change the path and filename of the dash you want it to boot .. or you will get another error

once loaded the you will see the real c .. warning... be really careful about what you delete, its real easy i imagine to really screw things up here ... remember all the exploit files need to be installed in the proper place on the real c

i don't know much about krazies installer , though i believe his setup puts the shadowc.img file on the c partition so it gets completly hidden... i myself have a very simple setup with "uxe complete c" achived with a hotswap and with all my apps+dashes installed manually afterwards..its enhanced slightly with a virtual c drive (created by the virtual dive app) with the my original MS dash on it and a virtual eeprom with no save (i prefer it that way, so i don't have to remember to keep changing settings back to original). i cant really see the need for anything more for myself at the moment.

i'm a noob of a few weeks too, as you no doubt can tell .. anyway, good luck with your setup
