Updating Nkpatcher?

my ude2 softmod has nkpatcher set up already but how would i put in a updated version of it?
when i try i just get an error 21 and have to reinstall my ude2

configure it with the correct settings for your dashboard path and recompile, then sign it. you can only use a precompiled XBE if it has the correct settings for your setup.

where is a tutorial for recompiling it ive not had to do that b4 and what kind software will i need
so any help would be greatly appreciated

you'll need nasm compiler (free, search google) and xbedump (download at the usual places)

what you need to do is replace the old nkpatcher with the new one so that the fonts find it....and make sure that the new one you compile is pointing to the right place for your dashboard.

e:/dashboard/default.xbe

would that location be
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition2\default.xbe

Partition2 is c: drive
Partition1 is e: drive

but i'm not sure if the syntax is correct. The fonts syntax looks like this:
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1;default.xbe

I'm wondering how the first path would look like for ernie font..
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1\dashboard;default.xbe  (?)

Edit: No, for the fonts it would look like this:
\Device\Harddisk0\Partition1;dashboard\default.xbe

If you're having troubles compiling, try using GUI linked to in my sig.  Makes compiling and signing easy.

thanx man configuring it was a little tough and i screwed my box up a bit... but i got it back to normal again so ill give that configurer a try... peace
