Quick Question

My friend has a original non modded xbox i was wondering if i take his hard drive out of his xbox hook it up to my xbox  back it up on my computers hard drive then  formatt it take the ms dash off of it install evo X , unleash x or another 3rd party dash  then reinstall the hard drive back into his xbox would it boot up the 3rd party dash?

Quick answer : No, won't work.

You'll run into a number of problems.

- The old hard disk is locked, so you won't be able to access it. (unless you hotswap)
- Simply replacing the dashboard won't work without some form of mod (chip/TSOP flash/soft) It will generate an error and your xbox will boot to an "your xbox needs service' error screen.
