well, since they are generated based on manufacturing data and location, i suppose it's possible to make one yourself but i highly doubt it will work on live. you can virtually put in any data you want (like 00000000...serial # for example) and it's still gonna work, just not on live since MS has records of what eeproms were made and which one have been on live. the most popular eeproms apps (like config magic) come with blank eeprom all ready and working.

as for creating the random data inside the eeprom itself (online key, hdd key,...) they use special algorithms that take the serial # and output the different numbers using those algorithms.

could this be then used to unlock someones hard drive when they had lost their eeprom? this is the only real reason i asked

no, you need the eeprom for the xbox in question.

if you dont have the unlock password or the eeprom you could try hotswapping to gain access.

If the hdd key is generated from other info in the eeprom then what is the point in including it I wonder..  Seems kinda redundant..

Ok, thats a pretty sharp catch..  But it begs the question of what this source code came from if its not intended to be executed on an xbox..

is it possible or not if it i think it would be an awesome idea. I of course couldn't help with the program because i know very little about that kind of stuff and am just a newb thinkimg out loud
