you have to edit confog.inc file to change the location of shadowc.img.. and then compile it.not shawcmake.c file

Yep, thats what I was afraid of. I hex edited the path and saved the file, then signed it, but when it runs, it seems like its working, but it doesnt create the file, at least not anywhere I can find, and at 500mb, I doubt I'd miss it on a stock E drive tongue.gif So Im back to square one with trying to figure out how to make the shadowmaker app create the shadowc.img file in a location other than e:\shadowc...

Where are you trying to save it to?  And did you leave the 00 as the first char in the directory string?

Why not just make a blank file and populate it with your dashboard yourself?

Like, enable the actual C drive as partition 7, and point the virtual C drive to a blank file on the hard drive. Boot it, format the virtual drive, and then just copy the files over to the virtual C drive with like boXplorer.

what is actually wrong with the img on the location the app puts it? Putting it on F only works on larger hd's and putting it on C wouldn't work with the app.

You hexed it wrong..  I just did it and it works like a charm..  You will end up moving the \ left one position, and 00'ing the 3rd last character in the file..  If you can't figure it out just post an email address and I will send you this legal file..

Edit: One thing to be aware of, is nkpatcher will lock the entire e:\backup\ directory from reads/writes..  So basically you can't download anything from that directory when shadowc is active in nkpatcher..

I'm using flashfxp..  But IIRC I couldn't even delete files from that directory through unleashx's filemanager..  I have had other MINOR glitches with certain files not deleting through ftp or any xbox filemanager except boxplorer..  Boxplorer seems to delete anything I tell it to..  Only have my tsop'd box at the moment, so I can't dink around..

I wasn't talkin bout the writing part since I can't delete/move the file either (dunno ablout boxplorer) and it isn't supose to be deleted/moved either so that's fine. I was just talkin bout the reading part. I can transfer both the eeprom and the C image to my pc just fine while they are active. I wonder why some people have troubles with that. I'm using flash fxp also. Maybe a dash problem... I'll look into it sometime.

well maybe you just had the xboxhdm corruption problem. In fact maybe that is the thing other people suffer from as well.
