add a copy of eeprom.bin in E:\shadowc\ folder.. and then try to change the settings again.. if the change still doesnt exists then you might need to do a bios upgrade.. for updating the bios:

download ndure installer for pc 3.0 from xbins..
just choose the basic setup.
now go to installation folder and go to C:\bios\ folder.
rename bios.xbe to default.xbe
and replace the default.xbe in E:\bios\ folder with this one
now add eeprom.bin file in C:\shadowc\ folder.

I know it little trouble to do but xboxhd package is bit old and this problem is fixed in the new versions of the installer.

For whatever reason the second suggestion didn't work.  The only difference I have now is that my LED is orange when it boots to XBMC.

Should I be able to just start over with the Ndure installer with xboxhdm?  If that is the preferred method I can certainly try that.

I gotta give credit where credit is due. I got a secondhand 1.6 today and thought i'd try a softmod on a retail drive for a laugh. It worked fantastically. Had it modded in 10 mins!!!!! Think I will still fit a chip as its gonna have a large HDD but this is just class!!!! Thanks

i have 1 question.... i read that xboxhdm messes up the dashboard exploits.... now whether its true or not i dont know (i assume not but i have had trouble there is other threads i have mentioned it in)

the only reason i ask is because im going to get a fresh eeprom from my xbox, use the files from this installer, and then lock the harddrive.... all should be alright, right?

Use the Ndure installer for xboxhdm ( look at sticky on top of the forum).. UXE installer is outdated and discontinued..Also error 5 is hd locking issue.. Your HD is unlocked.. Lock the hard drive with eeprom.

yes.. you need to eeprom out of the memory card.. Even if you softmod.. without locking the harddrive; you will keep getting errors..

Use NDure, it's UXE's successor.
