Yes but say he boots a backup game. If the dash never loads it will still leave the led green. He's looking for a sure way to tell if the exploit is loaded or not. Which is'nt a bad idea really. The only way to do this is to do it thru the fonts. Or the bios. But if your using a kernal patcher your out of luck there.

Didnt rmenhal mention adding L.E.D support in v11?

If not , the fonts way is pretty easy.

i think that everyone should remember that nkpatcher has live blocking (which you should ALWAYS enable). if for some reason you cold booted a backup and tried to go online, you wouldn't be able to. the LED's don't really matter when nkpatcher10 is already going to save your butt...

not saying getting to play around with the LED wouldn't be fun...just saying that i don't think it's all that necessary.

I guess bios editing is out b/c nkpatcher doesnt support.. but then I need to edit my font.. I d/l NASM, but thats not an editor right.. only a compiler? what do I need to edit the font file??
EDIT, someone provided the code for orange.. I guess once I figure out HOW to edit, then I still need the code for red right?? blink.gif

Thanks for your reply, going to try it tonight. Quick question, So for orange which is 0FFh (according to original post) is the same as 0xff according to your post?

Not sure what the difference is.

Thx

Thx for the byte value for red.. good to know..
now I just need to figure out how to fix my dillema with nkpatcher not loading the fonts I need.. or not being able to compile bert_ate_ernie-generic.asm.
Is there a nkpatcher.asm that I could edit to point to  bert.xtf and ernie.xtf?
Woulk that be my solution??

Could you rename bert ate ernie.asm to ernie.asm make your changes then recompile with the tools and rename back to bertate ernie?

(Is there even such a src called bert_ate_ernie-generic.asm?)

Not sure but worth a shot.

The easy way just use nasm to compile:

nasm -o ernie.xtf ernie.asm

I think you should be able just to use ernie.asm for this.  Not really sure.

Is there something that looks for a specific name of bert_ate_ernie-generic in the fonts folder? What determines what the font should be called?

I would just try using the standard UXE fonts.  src is provided and use Daddyj's tools.  Basic ernie.asm.

NKPatcher doesnt load any fonts.

the udpdate.xbe loads bert&ernie, then they in turn load nkpatcher.
