Install New Xbox Hdd Easy
« on: February 02, 2005, 03:09:00 PM »

1. Softmod there retail Xbox with the retail HDD using ITools.
2. Turn on Xbox to the dashboard I chose to install using ITools, and once completly booted swap HDD's
2. Put in the Auto Installer Deluxe v1.0 CD and once Booted competely switch HDD with the new one they want installed

(I did the double 2's on purpose I want to know if I swap the HDD's once I am booted up to the dashboard I chose to install using ITools or do I put this disc in and then swap the HDD's)

3. Then goto format new HDD on the Auto Installer Deluxe Disc
4. Once formated restart Xbox and it should be now a regular Xbox (or would I choose to install the MSDash)
5. From there I would softmod it using ITools

*If there are any other steps I need to take, and if this way will not work please tell me what I need to do. Below are a few questions???

Another few question?
*If I do try this, and I softmod the retail Xbox HDD and then swap HDD's in the middle when it is booted like at the EvoX dash do you think it will still boot a CD, I am almost positive the software that boots games in burned into the hardware like not to the HDD, So when it is booted to the EvoX dash (or dash I chose to install with ITools) I will insert the Auto Installer Deluxe v1.0 CD and it will format It for me.
*Are there any other steps I need to take such as, lock HDD, unlok HDD.
*And if this does not work will I fry anything such as my Xbox retail HDD for swapping it while it is running, or my new HDD I want to install or the Xbox itself.
*When the Auto Installer formats the new HDD does it at the MSDash or does it just partion the drive and format it so it is like an original Xbox HDD without files.
Do I need to install the MSDash myself (there is an option on there, once I do that I would then softmod it)

(where to get it)
