I finished modding two xboxes for friend. One was v1.5 with executer 2.3B+ (Unreliable) and the other was a v1.6 with Xecuter 2.6 CE( which had to be pressed down to boot Evox, loose connections-I had checked and filled the solder many times but could never get it right).
I Softmodded them by:
1: booting slayers with the modchip and restoring the HD to retail.
2: then booting with modchip and then FTPing the installers.
3: then booting with modchip OFF and startingsplinter cell...and following the screens.
Everything went beautiful, I never imagined softmodding would be that easy. Thank you very much Mr. Krayzie for making the installer. Now all my troubles with modchip are gone. Before this I had TSOPed two xboxes after they had problems with Xecuter 2.3B+, it was very complex proceduer.
Now I have to softmod two more v1.6B boxes. Since they are retail I cannot FTP. So I might have to get a memory Unit.
I prefer the Splinter Cell Installer as I have that game.
Since there are two parts, is it possible to put them both on 1 memory unit (I plan to buy one bigger than 8MB)? I would like to exclusively keep the memory unit and the splinter cell game for future modding needs.
I also read this thread and many others regarding softmodding till my head spun. I don't see anywhere (or missed) mentioning what not to do with a softmodded xbox.
My concerns are:
If I use slayers and format then there is danger of wiping all the softmods in there. I need to know which drives I should not format. If I restore the box to retail using slayers, will the splintercell installer still be in there??
Thank you very much for the installer. Now I feel veery confident with softmodding.
