You can safely delete all of the stuff in E, unless if you want your save games.  Back those up first.

While FTPed.. Delete Everything on C (Yes this will kill the FTP server running on it, but only AFTER it reboots) then FTP over your backed up C Drive.  Once you reboot it will be like it never happen.

I don't see why running a shadow c drive would complicate installing a new HDD. Just use xboxhdm and put all the same files in the linux folder from C and E. Along with eeprom and whatever else you need on there. create image and burn. You'd most likely need to use a DVD-R instead of a CDR but big deal.
Then rebuild the drive like you would otherwise do. I've never done it. But I know theres enough guides out there to do it. Can't be that complicated.

well you would need to see if thers a backup of the orignal dash files on your xbox. if you dont have one then you gonna need to find orignal files. as for using the uxe gamesafe installer yes its safe to use live with it after you switch back to stock mode. like any other mod its not safe to use with live when its being used.

Your C drive should be clean of any non-M$ files.

So no evox etc. and if your xbox is softmodded and the M$dash works... its patched and thus not suited for live. You will need slayers or whever to get a nice "original" msdash.

I would just burn slayers, get FTP, delete all of C: WHILE THE CD IS BOOTED, then do the install/upgrade just M$dash. to copy just the M$dash to C.

you can run slayers on a softmodded xbox...you just can't boot from it. basically this means you can't put in a new hard drive and boot off of slayers then format it and install everything, you have to softmod the xbox, then run slayers, then do whatever it is you need (most options will only screw up your xbox....this one will format c and replace it with a stock C drive)

assuming you only replaced the fonts and xboxdash.xbe on your C drive, all you NEED to do for Live! is to replace xboxdash.xbe with the original and then delete the bert and ernie fonts and replace them with the originals. that is all you need to do, since I assume that you'll want to mod it back when you're done, you don't need to touch your E drive, whether they scan it or not, you don't get banned, my E is filled with crap, and yet everything has remained hunky-dory

1. I burned slayers, and could boot up from the CDRW.
1a. Choose option #2 to backup important files
2. FTP in and Copy C:/backup for safe keeping.
3. Delete all of C while Slayer's is still booted.
4. Choose option 4A-10 - install/restore M$ Dash 185ead00 5960 on C:
5. Then I'm good to go?

Correct me if I'm wrong, after I do this I will have effectively UNSOFTMODDED my xbox, right?
