if i softmodded an xbox, then booted my own installer type dvd, then pulled out the hd and put in a new one, then (from evox on the dvd) formatted C,E,F,X,Y and Z then installed all of the necessary files then locked it with evox.....would i end up with a working hard drive that could boot from that xbox? or a huge mess and an even bigger headache?

i only ask because, although i know how to use xboxhdm, a lot of my friends have asked me to install bigger hard drives and i don't feel like taking apart my computer every time and making a boot disc with each one's eeprom.
