basically i used shadowcmaker to make an iso of my current softmodded (UXE) c; placed the shadowc.img in c: (which is where nkpatcher looks for it); rebooted and got an error 21

funny how your sig has a link on this tut saying it's the best and you don't even understand it.

yea, i thought i understood it until i tried it

i read your tuts but still don't know why mine isn't working?  i setup nkpatcher to look for my evox dash in c:/fonts/dash first.  i rebooted several times so i know that my setup worked.  next i used shadowcmaker to make my .img file from my c: and placed shadowc.img in c:/.  then i enable c:/shadowc.img in nkpatcher.  when i rebooted i got a 21 error

what doesn't make sense to me is if my shadowc.img is exactly like my actual c:, which booted successfully before, there is no reason why it shouldn't boot with shadowc enabled. right?

Ok my main point is this, to restore a m$ dash on the shadow C, your AFTERMARKET dash is ususally named something like 'EVOXDASH.XBE' and its files are needed too, but the 'HACKED FILES' are not needed on the shadow C since they are being loaded from the real C.

So if you erase everything , except your AFTERMARKET DASH from your shadow C, and place the original fonts in C:\ fonts, and run a LIVE enabled game, then tell it to update your dash, it will install a nice new m$ dash on your shadow C. Therefor allowing your dual-game 'TOP-SPIN&NCAA' to work. You can also run the DASHUPDATE.XBE from any file-manager, sometimes doesnt work on first run, just try it again, it usually always runs correctly on second attempt.

After installing UXE Complete 0.2.1 via xboxhdm, the evox menu had an option to build shadowc on e:\shadowc\shadowc.img, so I ran that.  When I ftp in, the C was empty so it was obviously the virtual C: drive. (correct?)

At this point, to insatll a nice new m$ dash, do I

a) load up evox dash
cool.gif ftp the original fonts folder into C:\fonts
c) launch a LIVE game (say TOP SPIN) via evox
d) tell TOP SPIN to update my dash?? (if that doesnt work I can manually invoke DASHUPDATE.XBE from within any file manager)

Sooo.. would the above procedure work?

after I put on UXE Complete.. I'm only gonna have xboxdash.xbe and the fonts folder (with hacked fonts and dashboard/nk folders) on my C drive.

Yeah and it's deleted or something? Oh wait...... Wasn't there a problem with some old UXE packages. Enable your G drive and look overthere.

Yes it sounds as if you used the first uxe complete package.

Do you remember the filename, you should be using the uxe-complete v0.2.x whereas x= the highest number you see.

your real C contains all the exploit files, and the virtual C contains all the orignal xbox file , and the after market dash.
