I heard that if I boot with a game inside the drive the xbox will boot up retail and I can go live safely.
That's true.

this means since i have evox..and i just boot up a retail game normally without going to the dash 1st, i can go live safely?
(i am really sorry about being annoying, but i dont want to get live for xmas and get banned the same day)

yes that's true. But you do need to switch off or remove your softmod first to set up your live acount since you have no acces to the live console

I allready told you to go to the site from where the package is spread. They have much more info on how it works and how you can remove it. I have never used it, all I know is that if you pick some wrong options than you'll see some error screen.
and no live does not see any games on your hd

Hello, could you help me, please?

I want to install gentoox on my XBOX.

To do this, I need a softmod, right?
I downloaded uxe-complete-v0.2.2.rar and read the readme. And now I have a few questions.

QUOTE

Install instructions:

1. Determine what lba48 patches support your drive. For F taking rest of drive you want 06, for F up to 137gb then G gets the rest, you want 67.

2. In the ‘support files’ folder, run the appropriate nkpatcher and font batch files for your Xbox’s unique setup.

NOTE: If you are confused, or do not have a large hard drive, run 71-fonts-install.bat, then nkpatcher-06-install.bat

3. Gain access to the Xbox hard drive (usually done by using a game save exploit with evox).

4. Backup (highly recommended) contents of Xbox's current C drive & eeprom.bin backup (from evox) to PC.

3. Erase everything on the Xbox's C drive.

4. Copy everything inside the 'uxe-c-replace' folder to the Xbox's C drive.

6. Copy everything inside the ‘place-on-e’ folder to the Xbox’s E drive.

NOTE: This option was added as an easy way to change your boot dashboard without touching your C drive at all. The E drive does not need to be erased prior to copying but be sure E:\ROOT\default.xbe exists on the Xbox else your dashboard will not load.

5. Turn Xbox off, count to 5; turn it back on with no disk in the DVD tray.

A) Can I overjump Step 1 and 2?
cool.gif If not: What must I do in Step 1?
C) When I run the 2 files (Step 2), they won't do anything. The files which they copy were already in the zip-file. What should I do?
D) After successful installation, could I install gentoox with the ISO burned CD?
E) Can I uninstall or hide UXE and gentoox to play XBOX Live?
F) Before I start with softmodding, I must update my dash, right? Will M$ ban me when I connect to Xbox Live, because I have used Splinter_Cell_Evox to make a backup from my xbox-files?

Thanks
Sry for my miserable English

Hello. As usual problems, i can`t think it out.

Half year ago i hotswapped, softmodded xbox 1.6 last ms dash. PAL box
Got hdtv and wanted to change eeprom data to NTSC for hi def gaming.

evox as dashboard e:/dash/default.xbe
So there is the E:/shadowc/shadowc.img
as far i understand it is virtual C
But where is virtual eeprom to change?
I realy don`t remmember what settings i used to nkpatcher or something else.

Runing c:/xboxdash.xbe and changing settings after reboot there is old settings.
Using enigmah video switcher to change to NTSC after reboot is old PAL

using ConfigMagic and loading xbox eeprom - unlock hdd - edit on fly - update eeprom - load xbox eeprom(loads old settings) - lock hd
so i can not change it that way too.

Do i need to load different bios to edit eeprom file or change shadowc.img file.

confused a little  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

---------------------------------------
so i:

Coppied modidied eeprom.bin from pc to every location to xbox i can think off.
Now when evox loads there is ablink and it switches to ntsc, then i run xbmc - > file manager -> MS dashboard -> enable widescreen -> enable 720p and 480p -> trumbs and triggers -> switch to 480p -> run the game i like

after restart i have old 4:3 and 480i in MS dashboard, but atleast i can now run games in better quality even if  have go that long way

coppied eeprom.bin to shadowc directory in E and dash directory

now i need to know way that ms dashboard saves the settings.

Yes, I belong in the noob section, leave it to me to make something simple difficult.

I recently went through the process of trying to softmod my xbox. I did word for word what this tuturial said (##############).

I finally finished the installation and backup process. At the end it asked for me to rebbot the xbox with no game in. After did the final installation and it was supposedly complete, I rebooted my xbox as instructed. I installed UnleashX.

After I rebooted, I was greeted by the standard MS dash except this time the xbox light was red and it asked for the time. I treid rebooting again and again trying each of the buttons (power on and eject) none worked. Everytime the same thing happened, red light and clock reset.

I would like to start modding IMMEDIATLY but, alas, I cannot with my xbox in this condition. Please dont hesitate to give your advice.

I will aslo post this in other forums cause I am not sure what this belongs under.

First of all you cannot link to crappy sites or tutorials and definately not when they contain illegal download links. 2nd if you want help on this forum you might rather wanna use stuff that is supported here since we know it and it's at least a bit decent.
