Is My Hdd Locked Forever?
« on: December 29, 2004, 09:41:00 PM »

Looks like your f***ed! Frist off why did you type in the long as password just use your eeprom and linux option 3? Play it save use EEPROM (don't worrie i have my stock 10gb hdd as a paper weight too). That log should so you where you made your typo at.. Either that or you drive's securty is up so high that only the master password can unlock it..

Some people on here might beable to tell your your master password but since you didn't lock it with linux it wouldn't be XBOXSCENE but you can try it.. Also try TEAMASSEMBLY load atapwd and use your master password from there.. ;-) good luck you'll need it.

Did you try TEAMASSEMBLY as the master password in atapwd.exe (found on this sites tools page)??  The fact that you did a test run with Config Magic may have saved your ass..

Yeh unlockx and those dos hdd lock apps are a tad dodgy and one key stoke incorrect and you need to work out what you pressed... biggrin.gif
Lucky for you, you have a brain.... blink.gif
Why don't you use the hdd locking code in evox, once you install the exploit on hdd and it boots evox on the box intended, lock the hdd then...

OK so even if have an exploit installed on a hdd it will still boot the original bios first, then load the the exploit and use the bios loader and boot evox or what eva dash...first???
If thats the case then yes the hdd will generate an unlock code error...So  thats how it works?

Thats why chips rule.... biggrin.gif
I only started rooting with soft mods 2 days ago for something to do and they have their limitations obviously!!!!  good for a cheapo and non opening mod....and thats it...
When things go wrong it can be a drama....
All M$ does is updates dash in LIVE and its all over...

the perfect  softmod setup ...

Get a xtender or another case that can hold multiple harddisks ...
keep your original in as an original and put in a larger softmodded hdd in extra...

u can boot original and play on live without trouble.. (how long will it take for them to start scanning for the save games of dvd2xbox avalaunch etc, this a mod chip cant even prevent)

And you can have a modded harddrive in there with all your software homebrew games, movies music everything u want...

Yeh thats it but shit it's expensive to use.....
NOT worth it to unlock a xbox drive....If it's supported...need to check the support info....But if you got a hdd upgrade this could be what you need ??  and maybe worth the expense to outlay the cash !!!!! biggrin.gif

NO W/DIGITAL UNDER 20gb supported.....So bad luck to W/D owners. biggrin.gif

----SEAGATE-----  If Nothing listed ??  Try it !! other models maybe OK... Not under 4gb unsupported...

U5

ST310014A   *******    Later XBOX not listed --- supported ???????

http://www.hdd-tools...cts/rrs/drives/      List Of supported Drives.....

Yes precisely !!!
An xbox hdd would not justify the expence...Bot something larger indeed seems a deal... So all you peeps out there who accidentally locked a hdd with reasonable storage size and thought it was dead   ---Think again------- biggrin.gif
You may indeed not be as screwed as you thought...
