I *think* this is the appropriate forum so here goes.

This is so frustrating, I have an X3 sitting in my crystal 1.6b PAL and it is useless because the chip only has the old 3.0.1 bios flashed. I have already followed this guide but to no avail. I am inexperienced to say the least as far as modding of any kind but I have been trying desperately to think of a way to get the 3.0.3 cromwell onto my hdd so I can flash the chip, but nothing yet.

Has anyone got a solution for this pretty widespread problem?

One other question. Can linux 'see' the fatx filesystem? If so, could I hotswap my hdd with my pc and write the bios to C then, using an EvoX boot disk or similar, flash the bios? That's all my puny brain could muster.

Programmers are not an option because I need this fixed preferrably pre-Xmas.
Flashing in another Xbox is a dead end cause I only know 1 guy with an Xbox and it is stock.
Sending the chip back to get flashed could take a week or more at least considering this time of year, I know cause I'm a postal worker

Any scrap of help appreciated.
