QUOTE(Pojokunam @ Jan 1 2005, 07:11 PM)
So I installed nkpatcher-67 and it loads everything fine and I finally have IGR but my xbox still isn't showing my 200GB Western Digital HDD. I used xbhdm to format and I think that the problem may be that my computer's bios doesn't support 137+GB b/c I have the intel 845G mobo. Can I use software that is loaded on myxbox, or somethign built into evox to format my F drive to take up the rest of the HDD?

Nkpatcher 9.0 & 10.0
« Reply #137 on: January 02, 2005, 12:50:00 AM »

well, i'm new to Nkpatcher, and according to my understanding, Nkpatcher v9 can be use by renaming nkpatcher-06.xbe to default.xbe and replacing the default.xbe in E drive correct? after replacing it, is the boot.cfg, M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-BFM.bin, and M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-EF-BFM.bin still necessary in the E drive? if not, can I delete those?

Ok, so to use it, all I need to do is dl nkpatcher9.zip, extract it, rename nkpatcher-06.xbe to default.xbe and upload to my xbox by replacing the current default.xbe in E drive correct? if the boot.cfg, M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-BFM.bin, and M8_LBA48_IGR_Q-06-EF-BFM.bin is not necessary, I can delete those correct?

Beside these steps, are there anything else I needed to do?? like do something to the C drive or add things here and there!!!

Much thanks if anyone could help me out by clarifying this up for me.

EDIT: one more thing, are all the funcition of nkpatcher9 included in nkpatcher10?

yeah repalce the existing default.xbe and you can safely delete all the bios loader files. and yes nkpatcher 10 is just an upgrade and has all the features of previous nkpatchers

Dear rmenhal

I apreciate very much your work and I want to make some sugestions:

- it is posible to do a nkpatcher.cgf (or .ini) file so that your patcher read it first an then patch the kernel acording to it? (please include ALL options from config.inc) [it is time consuming to assamblley the sources everytime you want to change something!]

- it is posible to do an utility.xbe with which the user can edit the nkpatcher.cgf (or .ini) direct on XBOX?

Thanks in advance

Both are quite possible, but not really called for, as you shouldnt need ot change options that frequently.

can the shadowc.img file created by shadow tools on F: be copyed to C:

i apologize for my ignorance...

i've been reading this thread for an hour and still don't know how to update my nkpatcher.

i modded my xbox 2 days ago with the UXE package.  i have read that nkpatcher10 supports lba48, which is what i need to enable more than 137gb hdd space.

so, i downloaded nkpatcher10 and read the readme.  the first time i read it i thought you had to run it as an app after boot.  so i tried it and it crapped out and i fixed C partition

so, i read it again.  this time i went to c:/fonts/nk and replaced the xbe with the new xbe and added the src folder to c:/fonts/nk.  when i reboot it just frooze at the "X" load screen

now im tired of reading and just want some help.  can someone please break it down for me?

ok, here is something i couldnt figure out:

i changed the setting so nkpatcher would boot C:\unleashx.xbe
put evoxdash.xbe and unleashx.xbe on C: for testing.
i compiled and signed it, and booted fine. but when i removed evoxdash.xbe, it just locked.. put it back, it started fine. i opened nkpatcher in hex. and saw that the setting was like i put it..

i have no idea whats wrong.

(and yes, it doesnt use my shadowc image i have created,, one e:\shadowc\shadowc.img, dont know why there either..)

here is my config file
http://www.kolaas.com/config.inc

im not sure on how to set all the settings..

i just want the nkpatcher to boot the unleashx.xbe from c:, and to use the shadowc file on e:.. (i have created a 200mb file to fix later on, its the 500mb the app created which i have now)

if you look into it, can you show me where the error can be so i can learn from it?

XBL blocking is enabled, but virtual eeprom is not by default. I could be work, but believe this to be correct.

Try reading the config.inc file.
