Nkpatcher 9.0 & 10.0
« on: December 21, 2004, 11:43:00 AM »

Not out yet, but very soon...

Still in it's testing stage, this will probably be rmenhal's (and our) gift to the scene for xmas. As you should have guessed, it in fact does have lba48 support added to it. So far it's been working 100%. I personally haven't had a chance to try it yet but if I don't, expect a chritmas eve ~ christmas present under your tree smile.gif.

BTW: lba48 isn't the only new feature wink.gif.

Big thanks to the master rmenhal, making it all possible.

Questions and comments as always are welcome.

Happy Holidays,

-devz3ro

Does that include requests/suggestions to?  rolleyes.gif

I absolutely love all the extra's Nkpatcher allready has right now.
The next best thing would indeed be LBA-48 support.

I mod xbox's on an almost daily basis.
I am currently using pbl-metoo for this since that method works for any xbox and any size hdd.

As soon as LBA-48 support is implemented I will probably switch to nkpatcher.
(I like to use 1 method for all xbox's. Currently I cannot since lot's of people want 160/200 GB hdd's in their xbox's)

I absolutely love the shadow-c function.
But it still has a user-accesible file on the E-partition.

Currently I tell people to stay away from the C completely (I altered everything so it completely boots from C and then loads the dash from F, and then E)

When nkpatcher 9 is out I will probably start modding xbox's using nkpatcher and make the shadow-C file read-only.
But a better way (if possible at all) would maybe be if the shadow-c file is on the real C-partition.
That way, after booting is done, there is absolutely nothing a standard user could do which would make the xbox stop booting (at the most they can fck up the fake C which would mean they would simple not have an ms-dash anymore)
(changing the xbox-region would also make sure nothing gets booted prior to the exploits)

Anyways, I'm very much looking forward to nkpatcher v9.

Merry christmas to all smile.gif

Anyhow, I hope 'its coming out soon' means within the next 2 days. I can't wait to see whats happened with Nkpatcher.

PBL? Pfft. Thats for Gen1/Gen2 modchip owners now. Exploits got their own 'rmenhal grade' tweaked-to-hell completely built in ASM superloaders tongue.gif...

Thought i would let the users know that I've been testing the lba48 (160 gig with nkpatcher 9) and everything appears to be smooth. No data corruption so far...
