I just don't see why it's a problem anymore because it seems like only ricecake, space, and me are actively pursuing releasing a softmod installer at the moment.

mine is already done for a while tongue.gif

only released on gueux.net (now gueux.be)

i think it is time to allow waffle to put his package up at xbins. he has obviously worked hard and like he said it is the only current package to work with all three games. its been through testing, and he isn't trying to make it better than any of the others so why not allow it to be open to the public.

Nice to see some development in softmod installers. I'm all for having (safe) alternatives to ltools so whatever people find is the best installer should be publicly available.

As explained here I didn't leave the scene for good, and I will try to contribute more frequently to the scene in the near future. That includes a final ltools 1.8 for MA, SC, 007, and probably also xboxhdm updates. MIght be some time before I get the time though  blink.gif

nice to hear you still here ldots,

you are my idol!

someday i shall meet you and give u 100$

waffle has a good point
i havent used his stuff but im sure its great as i read
and although competition is a fun concept their shouldnt be official anything, if their are reliable package/installers then they should all have a chance

QUOTE

Why should there be an "official" alternative? I don't think the ability to have your package on Xbins should be won, especially not by direct competition with others. If EvoX was the official dashboard on xbox-scene and Avalaunch was the "official" alternative, would we have any of the other great dashboards? I think all of the dashboards are good in their own merit and it's important that people have the choice. Personally I love UnleashX, but there's obviously tons of people who like EvoX, along with people using MxM and Avalaunch. The same thinking should apply with installers too (given that they do what they say and don't break any xboxes).

Whatever, fuck it.

If there's like 30 packages out there, though, I sure as hell aren't helping anybody use them.

By the way I didn't really know how to say that.

By official, I meant like the mainline package that people should use.
And basically the only package I need to bother figuring out to help people with.
