well ideas here..hmm....you could make the ppf patch for just the bert-generic.xtf

(if you do i would love it if i could have a copy..heehee)

also the program for the ppfs could be run at the end of the install after everything else is done (the scripting can execute a program) and the way the app works is it has a config file sort of like a batch file that tells it what to do when its ran so that part is automated already....i think it would work pretty well

this is true. the origional MS dash doesnt really need to be modified at all, just renamed.

as for the bert-ernie fonts, airnt those no big deal? I mean, those are not really copyrighted by ms, so to have those in the iso should not be an issue (yes, the fonts are hacked versons of the fonts, but then again, some memcard installers contain them, not?). and if it is a huge deal, then I will attempt to make a ppf file that will patch the origional fonts, thus preventing any legal issues.

also, the reason why I am thinking about including the dash files in the iso is just in case a noob either forgets to ftp the folder (or zip file), or just deletes it, this way they still have a way to get their xbox back up and running. the files that are in question are the msdash (and supporting folder with files), xodash folder (and contents) and the fonts folder (all would be unmodified).

and if I still am unable to include the origional dash files (I still dont see the harm because they would be completely untouched, 100% official MS files, and thier sole purpose on the CD is for recovering purposes only. This can be highly debated, because you are able to make a backup of your HD using legal cloning tools (like norton ghost), and your HD contains copyrighted contents from MS, and there are no re-percussions of using that, are there?.....well, if you gave this iso away, then yes, its a form of piracy, but these files are what every xbox contains, just a diff version is all, so its not really piracy then is it? because they already paid for the xbox, and the files where already there, and they would have obtained the newer verson anyway via live update),

anyway, if the dash files cannot be included, then I will add a disclaimer to evox that if they do not ftp the files, or if they delete them to make room, then I am not liable for their own stupidy, and if they disagree to the disclaimer, then it will just shut down the xbox, not modifing a damn thing (you may think this sounds impossable to do, but you got to think outside of the xbox.....er, box).
