Hard Drive Upgradem Problem(softmod)
« on: November 20, 2004, 01:08:00 PM »

I successfully softmoded my v1.3 with the 007 Hack, latest ltools UDE1 and nkpatcher. Works fine...does everything it is supposed to. The problem is when I did the hard drive upgrade with xboxhd 1.9 it formats fine...copies fine...locks fine, but when I connect it to the xbox it loads the evox or M8 dash but stutters if there is a disc in. It shows all media as unknown and when I tried to load the MS dash to set the time it says the disc is not recognizable. I've tried everything from copying over all my original folders and cloning my original drive.
Could some provide me with a list of C:, D: and E: files I should have after the ltools install? I have a seagate 120GB 7200 drive with 8meg cache...i don't think the drive it the problem.

Please tell me what to do.

Tried th X2 bios...still not able to read discs. Also tried rebuilding the c drive...could it be a partition problem?

Look at that thread.  There is a problem with the partitions when using xboxhdm.
Just reformat E using evox and remember to transfer E back before rebooting.  Should take care of your problems.

I have a t-sop softmod and have enjoyed it for awhile now. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to upgrade the HD. I used xboxhdm 1.9 and  all was well, evox ran and I had ftp access. I put a game if the F: drive, it froze when it got to the start screen. It did the same with a game in the E: and then I a DVD in and i still froze. I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

sorry which is it? TSOP or softmod?
If you've flashed the tsop just installed m8 bios or x2 and boot the slayers disc and re-install it that way.
If you've softmodded it really depends what mod your using as to what can fix, pbl fbl uxe ude etc. in order to get your game working,

Update:

The problem was fixed by clearing out the e:\cache and anything in drives x, y, z if you have em. It works perfect now.

P.S. Sorry I wasn't clear at all, it is a t-sop mod.

Update on HD upgrade not reading discs.
So I used xboxhd to burn an ISO with bthe original slayer's C folder  from the "ALL" directory, nothing else...no E drive. Cleared the Fatx partitions and created a new drive from scratch. So then I had a working unmoded xbox with a big drive...just ran the exploit one more time and now everything is working excellently....reading burns, originals and f drive is working.
