Setting Up A New 120gb Drive With Uxe
« on: November 15, 2004, 02:04:00 PM »

I know that I saw a tutorial on this somewhere but I can't seem to find it now.  If I have a hard modded xbox, can I use it to build a larger drive with the UXE files on it, and then install it in the unmodded xbox.  I have the EEPROMS etc. for the unmodded box.  I would use Slayers in the modded box to set up the drive.  What would I have to do to make it work in the unmodded xbox?  Thanks for the help.

Just put in the necessary UXE files and lock it to the Xbox you wanna run the HDD in. You could also use XboxHDM.

I have already run the backup on the eeprom etc for the unmodded xbox.  How do I go about editing the eeprom to match the hard drive key of the virgin xbox?  Thanks again.

load up configmagic
select edit eeprom on the fly
edit the key
update eeprom
load eeprom
lock hd

BUT be sure to unlock the drive that was in the hardmodded box first OR change the key back after you locked it otherwise the other hd won't work anymore

When I tried to edit the key in ConfigMagic it wont let me type in more than 32 characters...

My new Xbox is using a key with greater than 32 characters?!

Any ideas?

yeah use the other key (not the password) which does has 32 characters. You need the bottom one from the evox backup text file.
