V1.6 Games Help
« on: November 09, 2004, 12:50:00 AM »

I have recently bought a v1.6 xbox and i have not bought a mod chip nor flashed the bios on it (cant find the TSOP points).  I do have UDE2 working on it fine and i have put a temporary 40 gig hdd in it.  But when i load games such as star wars battlefront and halo 2, i cant seem to get much farther past the opening screens.  i was wondering if there is something that im missing or do i need to setup my xbox differently.

Thanks for any help

This happens if you use Xboxhdm along with an UDE2 install.  The files that exist in your e:\cache folder are probably what's causing your games to lock up when running off the hard drive (where they probably run fine off the DVDrom).  Delete the files in that folder or delete the cache folder and then try loading your games.  The cache folder can exist in other drives as well but the e:\cache folder is most likely the culprit.

It has to do something with the process of rebuilding the new e: drive using the Xboxhdm cd I believe.

qsnexus your a pimp.  I couldnt figure that out for the life of me.  That fixed the problem easily.

I see that you have a 1.6 and using UDE, from what i read i couldnt get a hdd that is bigger the 137 unless i flashed bios or somehting like that. How do you have a 250gig in yours.

thanks again for helpin me out
