Xboxhdm Undefined Mode Number?

I boot the xboxhdm disc and choose either option 1 2 or 3 and they all give an undefined video mode error.... i choose the option 4 and it boots to the freedos like it should.. but what does the mode number mean and how can i fix this problem???

I tried it on all three of my PC's and it gives the same error everytime... but they all have the built-in Video cards...

I tried the graphics card thing and it still doesnt work.. does anyone have any information that could help me out??
