Ok we got a holiday pack xbox with the 2 free games disc, i softmodded the xbox its a version 1.6 and now when you try to play the disc that came with it we get an error screen 21 but it still goes to the dash fine and plays games off the hd fine.....so what would be the reason for it not being able to play a storebought game that came with the xbox now>?

K tested it with 2 burned games and still same thing, it seems to play off hd fine and the dash is ok but any thing using a disc and error 21???

Would this have anything to do with the msdash not being done right? cause i think its not installed right, cause when you click on the msdash link you get the error screen.

How did you mod it? What bios loader/bios did you use? Did you try running the game from bootup (disc allready inside when you turn on the xbox)?

Ok this is even more odd, i modded the guys xbox using the hot swap method evox is the bios and pbl is meeto and it worked fine till we tried playing the 2 disc thing that came with it, so then i tried the disc on my sons modded xbox i just did for xmas,its the sdame xbox but i modded it using 007 and ltools_007_v1[1].7.5 and same bios and pbl and now i get the same error screen, so i tried the same disc on my xbox v1.0 with a tsop flash and it works fine on my xbox???

I tried booting it when the disc was already in but error 21 and when launched from dashboard on my kids xbox it just freezes at the dash but on buddys he says error 21......this couldnt have somthing to do with the disc could it? i mean it is new?

try setting auto update to "OFF" in the msdash.

Ok the xbox plays other store bought games but it wont play the 2 disc one and burned games???
I just tried 007 agent under fire and it works?

Ok its the double pack that comes with the new holiday pack xbox from future shop, it comes with top spin and amped 2 on 1 cd, what else i just noticed was that i ftp'd into the c drive and before all the dashboard shit for evox and such was in the e drive in a folder called dashboards now i open C and see this.

I see nothing strange on your C and your dash is rather new. Are you sure your playing the disc from a loaded dash like evox. So you are not turning on the xbox with the eject button.
