Help, Stuck In A Weird Clock Loop :s
« on: November 02, 2004, 11:49:00 PM »

Ive installed bigfonts/pbl lite on many xboxes and this is the first problem ive had.  i thought would come out of the loop eventually but its been hours.. and it wont boot a retail game (mechwarrior) and i tried letting it boot with a burned audio cd but it still loops.  i thought in a clock loop i would still be able to boot a retail game.  the last thing on the screen before it reboots is a green oval slightly off center (maybe someone has seen this before).  what i thought was my buddy must have updated his dash but he said he never had it connected to the internet.  Any help greatly appreciated.
TIA,
John

hi my box was modded with big fonts i made a short rj45 cable joining the
white orange to the white green and thesolid green to the solid orange it would always come out of a clock loop within five loops max
once you get it out of the loop you need to change to ude
hope this helps

ok ill give that a try.. can you explain how that would work?  seems very weird and never heard of it before.  is the loop i described a standard clock loop?  i thought you could load retail games from the loop.
thanks

It sounds exatly like a clock loop to me. But it is weird that you can not boot any games, as if I remeber right, you can boot games from a clock loop, maybe something more sinister is going on in your xbox.

no, a clock loop prevents loading of retail games. recall that on a 'normal' xbox, it will ask for the time whether a game is in the drive or not. therefore a clock loop will happen with or without a game.

if you dont have any luck with the ethernet cable, i suggest you hotswap to restore a normal dash, and then <shameless plug> follow the tutorial in my sig. </shameless plug>
