Here is my problem:
I softmoded my original xbox hd using UDE2, and it works perfectly fine, I can load games on the HD and run them, or they will run off the cd.

I copied the C and E partitions to my computer, and ran through the tutorial again, this time with the C and E partitions in the linux folder, and the eeprom.bin in the eeprom folder. I burnt the ISO and formatted the new lockable drive, then locked the drive.

The dashboard will load fine, but games will freeze when loading the cd. This does not happen with the original HD. The C and E partitions on the original is the same as the C and E partitions on the new HD.

One thing that is weird, and might be causing the problem: When loading the xbox dash on the new HD, the live account is not found. When loading the xbox dash from the original HD, the live account is there and logs in fine. Could this be the cause of the problem? I am not sure what would cause one HD to show the live account and not the other, considering both partitions are identical.

Please help, I am out of ideas.

Turns out deleting the cache on the HD allows my retail games to work again, however, the live profile still does not show up.
