Fat-x-plorer Software Not Working
« on: October 12, 2004, 02:42:00 PM »

I've used HDDriver with limited success.

I'd suggest using ldot's xboxhdm as it seems to be the easiest way to transfer files.  Use "xbrowser" once you're in and you can start transferring whatever files you want over without errors.

Keep in mind: If you do not know the eeprom of your hard drive, you will need to hotswap the drive, with either program...

I prefer xboxhdm, just because it WORKS, unlike Fat-x-plorer....

Your problems with Fat X Explorer have nothing to do with blocks incited by M$....all of the FATX hot swap programs are just very, very buggy and will crash without warning. Some files will delete and copy with Fatx Explorer, and others will cause it to crash...the same goes for HDD Driver...you can either sit there and learn all of the eccentricities of each of the programs by trial and error as I did, or as someone suggested just use xboxhdm.

I however, did it the hard way and have never used xboxhdm, so I can't help you there.

I forget if its Fatxplorer or HDD Driver, but one of those apps really hates it when you use the right mouse button within the program..  There are tons of other bugs too..  I swear by xlinux/xboxhdm 1.9..  (Older xboxhdm versions have issues locking v1.6's)
