Not really, since a script would need to be run to apply and uninstall the hack.

The XBE's Morden had made it transparent.

You sure about this one? The version of the gamestub I used was an MXM script? I remember learning a lot from the MXM code  biggrin.gif

Also, I never saw an XBE in mordens package like what you describe?

i really think someone should create at least an app for this. then if no-one still uses it, then it can still be kept for future use if/when games auto check for fonts.

Hrm, well whatever.

I can almost remember though there was a gamestub.xbe at some time.

Whatever.

Since it are only a few games/demo discs that use the fonts to extract the xbe's wouldn't be simpler/safer to just copy the contents to the pc and hex all the fonts instances then burn it back to cd/dvd?

also i don't like the idea of moving the actual fonts every time i want to run something.

i don't see what's wrong with this on-the-fly font patcher. dry.gif

well why don't just make a rename script then. Simple enough. but with the risk of losing your UDE setup and facing an error screen. I just though hex editing would be a one time and a lot safer job. Also I though the SW default.xbe was only like 171 mb big so it could easily fit on a cd.

exactly, which is why on-the-fly patching would be perfect for discs that require fonts. i really want someone to make this, i know i've said it before, but i really wanna use my star wars disc and play the demo...........

Dude you really think someone is gonna make you a font patcher just becaus you wanna play that demo disc. As mentioned many times before a simple script would do what you want.
