Bootup Issue
« on: December 26, 2004, 07:50:00 AM »

Hey guys,
I have Matrix modchip that's been working for over a year now, but for some strange reason I'm booting directly to the Xbox dashboard.  I re-flashed my mod chip and re-booted.  I can see the Xecuter2 logo on the bottom of the screen, but it then goes directly to the Xbox dashboard and not my EvoX dashboard.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well I really think the problem is going to be a missing xbe file called evoxdash.xbe or evox.xbe depends on what you had before.  If you don't know how to replace redown load it from the internet and burn it onto a dvd-r or a brand now cd-rw.

I had an evox boot disk, but it won't boot from that either.  I'm wondering if the chip is messed up somehow.  The only thing that gets me is that I see the xecuter2 logo on boot.

Had this dvd-r worked before it stopped.  If you had not tried then try to make a new one.  Also is there an error message when you try to use the dvd-r.

Alo try to remove the matrix mod chip is you still see the excuter logo then it is the chip that is not aligning or bad.

Are ou sure that evox did not just get wiped out or something.  I would suggest knowing what happens when you use a evox boot disk.

try burning the evox disc to a cdrw.  Thats the only media my xbox will boot from when using an evox boot disc.  That and DVD+Rs but i cant waste those.

Well here is my suggetion.

Get a save game exploit like mech assult and use that to see if you can flash your mod chip.  If it says it an not flash it and you have it in the flashable mode then I wuld tend to think that the TSOP is being booted.  Even though it says excuter.  This is odd but you would be the scound person I have seen this happen to.

I would also suggest that you take the mod chip out and see what happens if the same thing happens then I would venture to say the chip is not aligned.

Ok this is a matrix chip exclusive problem.  I am wondering if your dvd drive did not get messed up some how or your bios is really out of date.  You will have to use the bios chip for now on unless you want to venture in flashing the TSOP.  Just reinstall and align it and then use a savegame exploit to reflash the bios with another bios.
