Emergency Situation - Hd Locked

QUOTE
I installed EPrommer to lock the drive, because for some reason ConfigMagic said there was some sort of error when i would start it up. Anyway, it seemed to lock fine. Then I restarted and got an error screen.
Your hdd is toast..  Eepromer can only lock 1.0 hdds, and I wouldn't trust it to do that anyways..  It does have a vague warning about not locking 1.1 xboxes, but I can understand how newbs could legitimately misunderstand that.

I have a WD1200BB drive, and my pc cannot lock that drive..  Config Magic can however..  Other ppl have found also had issues with WD BB hdd's..
I'm assuming you get an error 6 if you put it in the xbox?  There are ways to hotswap from within Config Magic for certain locking purposes, but I don't know if it would do you any good, and you'd need to wait for an updated version of Config Magic..

I have the same problem as putnam, does anybody know how to fix this? unlockhd doesnt do anything and atapwd gives error 'command rejected by drive'. Is there any other way to get in and format the drive in linux?
