Universal On/off Switch For Ude2

ok i wasn't here when the Easter Egg Exploit was around, but is this where a tab on the MS dash is replaced with a Bios Loader?
If that is what it is, and it now works on newer kernels, then someone should make a package for it, as there are many PAL users out there, who are not willing to change their region, nor are they intelligent enough to know how to. a simple load of the MS dash and then selecting a tab would be good enough to load a bios, then anyone can easily run a modded xbox with no worries. if a dash updates, then its a simple case of running an exploitable game, and reinstalling it with a newer dash. not that much more effort than UDE, and doesn't it mean fonts are left where they are?
Can one of the pros create an installer for this? as it is not harmful to the xbox, also it would mean easy modding for 1.6ers wink.gif

Thanks. Did that and the update worked. Now it's running 5960.

And are you able to confirm that the SC1 EEE still works?

Yes. I can confirm that it still works on my NTSC US 1.6 Xbox with K:5838 and D:5960.

Congrats.  beerchug.gif

I've implemented an EEE activation/de-activation option to the UDE installer. Still untested, but it could be worth an ltools update in the future.
Currently if uses the SC HDD flagged game engine form EEE to reach the ltools menu and allow an UDE re-install. The problem with this EEE/SC exploit is that it requires a lot of copyrighted files making it a bit unsuited for an installer.
The HDD flagged SC exploit is ideal for the SC version of ltools though. The installer will rip the needed files directly off the DVD, patch the game engine to run from HDD and set up the EEE when UDE is turned off. For the MA and 007 versions of ltools the user can supply the required SC files and the installer will also set up EEE.
For the latter two versions the EEE/pre-live dash combination might be a better choice, and I will consider this, but that will require the user to supply a pre-live dash and the nessecary xip's.
All in all. EEE is not ideal for an installer for copyright reason but for the SC_ltools it pretty neat.

that's referring to a ude on-off eee isn't it? i personally would like a standalone eee for running unsigned code on 5713+ pal without region changing.

It would function as that too (an all in one package). I planned to use the tray-state code to do something like this when EEE is active :
tray-closed : EEE -> SC -> game save hack -> E:\BiosLD -> E:\Dashboard\default.xbe
tray-open : EEE -> SC -> game save hack -> E:\UDATA\xxxxxxx\xxxxxxx\default.xbe (Ltools menu).

That way it is equivalent with the UDE installer and will function as an UDE on/off switch too.

You can do the exactly same patching of the original files with MA to create an EEE/MA. smile.gif  See here.  (The HDD MA booting thing didn't pan out, but HDD MA is as DDable, or EEEable wink.gif as SC1.)

007AUF has no HDD XBE since it's not an XBL game. sad.gif

@Pedro: memory lapse eh? biggrin.gif

The v401 HDD MA I discovered worked fine (even as a bootstrap) but it was shelved as it requires a special version of the gamesave file (so it was too risky, alas) eh. sad.gif
