I used to have the matrix chip in my box and it worked fine... it would read dvd-r's, and cd-rws.   I put it in my friend's and it doesn't read anything but real games.  The light on the chip is green and I thought that's all that really matters... I tried a samsung and thomson drive and neither are able to read anything but real games.  Am I doing something wrong? Or is there something else that I need to do?? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to say this but the chip is not alligned then.

I can tell you that the light just means that the d0 and the ground and 3.3volt power are connected.  Things I try is to loosen and tighten the bolt the chip is attached to.  This will raise and lower the lpc pogo pins and maybe one of then are not getting good contact.  Hope this helps.
