Well, it looks very nice to me. The xboxdash.xbe seems to be before the font bug was fixed. However, I'm not sure if she will boot on a 5713. Game regions look nice as well.
The only problem is the hacked fonts would already have to be in place before this 'boot disk' would work.

Hexedit the default.xbe and look to see where it looks for fonts at. It may search the disk first?

I was going to suggest taking a look at the 'settings_adoc.xip' within the dashdata folder but it seems it's not on the dvd..

CSB: Wasn't meant towards you. Hulk was asking for the xboxdash.xbe.

those hex codes do look intreting. but even if thers a dash caple of botting of a dvd r fonts are the problem being there isnt any. however it might be possable to boot this older dash on a cdrw and use a audio expolite being everything else is loaded off c:. meaning you could have a newer dash installed and still work around it poof no more worrying abought dash updates.

well like i said  this has been looked into befor. but never with a xbe so we well see what happons with this. as far as i got is to get the xbox to play any disk movie burned as a dvd.

it whouldnt normally?

anyway i think this is very viable, since it has some nice flags in the header... and stuff

if we can exploit the dash it will be a cinch smile.gif

i think someone with the hulk or the SW disc should make a copy and replace the xbe in the disc with some other MS signed xbe or a small game and see if it will boots the game or app.

sorry if this was already posted or this is what your talking about

it wont run afaik, it will need the proper media flags, like any other xbe launched pre-foobaring with the kernel...

then agian i know shit about media flags

UDF is the file system.  I don't think that matters at all.  what matters is that every xbe has a media flag embedded in it.  if the media that the xbe is launched from doesn't match the media flag, it won't run.  if you hex edit the media flag, then you've changed the contents of the xbe and it won't match up with the RSA signature (which is produced from the contents of the xbe).  so again, no run.

UDF is the way the files are layed out (so to speak) on the dvd.  it doesn't factor into the media flag or the RSA signature.  the media flag, the region flag, and the RSA signature are the obstacles to getting an xbe to run.

i just took the xboxdash.xbe (renamed to default.xbe) and the xip files from Hulk and burned them to the root of a dvd-r.  when i tried to boot, it gave me the Invalid media type error.  i think it wants a something burned with a book type of DVD-ROM.  there is a tut somewhere for getting your burner to burn disc with a book type of DVD-ROM (instead of dvd-r or whatever).  i think media flag in the xbe is stipulating that "i must run from a single layer or dual layer disc and that disc must be a DVD-ROM (not a dvd-r)."

so can someone save me some search time and point me to the tut on getting your burner to burn discs with a book type of DVD-ROM?
