The short answer is no.

isn't it possible to boot a burned copy with all the fonts instances changed to f0nts? (i thought I read running it from hd wasn't posible.)

I was refering to booting the original PAL SWT Extras DVD in a UDE modded XBOX. tongue.gif

PS.  This post describes how to install and launch the SWBF demo from the HDD, on XBOXs with UDE installed wink.gif .

Yeah okay I talked about making it posible for UDE users to acces the contents of the disc.

Edit: without changing anything on the UDE setup.

edit edit: nevermind. Since it will also update the dashboard it will most likely destroy the UDE setup if you let it use the retail fonts.

ok, so it doesn't work, but i still don't understand why.

if you have the latest dash installed then why does it look for fonts?

Pedrospad explained in his linked post that you will see an updating like screen that extracts the default.xbe into the cache partitions. That screen uses the fonts and it runs every time. Even if you have the latest dash.

I'm going to move on to another thread to talk about the possibility of reading xbox XDFS-format discs in pc-dvd drives...

I'll stay around here, too...

Oh, BTW, I didn't realize that in order for the dashupdate.xbe to be loaded from the retail disc, you must actually activate xbox live in the multiplayer menu.... I  {censored} hard drive, after clearing some crap off it... the game is approx 2.2GB... and in the root directory, the said files can be found... damn M$....

Wht happens when you play the disc in a normal dvd player?

It gives a error at the demo screen I assume. The other video stuff will play fine.

Just for clarification:
This is all for the SW demo version, correct?

The regular full SW:Battlefront game does not forcibly update the dash, correct? It's "just another" xbox game, right?

I'm thinking about picking it up, but would like to know if I need to tweak my box first.

cool...

Yes, I am aware of how people managed to copy Dreamcast GD-Roms... That's the only reason why I even bought a dreamcast -- to see if there's some sort of knowledge that's been overlooked... and to test some of my theories on... ($15 @ EB Games)...

I'm thinking that such an idea might work...

I've drawn out a diagram as to what I believe is how the xbox dvd is physically formatted... You can check the image out here> XBDVD stuff ... You can also find a 7zip compressed SFX file that contains the photoshop files that the image was created in.. yeah... if you want to enhance the colors, or see everything that I put into the image...

Teh Image...
