i can patch the xboxdash.xbe (the original one) with the dashboard f0nt patcher after renaming it to msdash.xbe to work with UDE?

EDIT: This is solved, ignore this message.

also one last thing, is this gonna cause me problems when i uninstall ltools? i mean does it simply move the files and rename them or does it restore them from backup. this worries me because if it just restores the xboxdash.xbe then i am gonna be left with an incompatible xbe for the dash aren't i?

sorry for the triple post. ignore my message from two posts ago.

ok i have successfully copied the xodash, the xboxdashdata and xboxdash.xbe (as msdash.xbe and hexed) and it has upgraded successfully. please answer my last post and i have one more thing to say.

the star wars extras disc still gives me an error 21, i know this is due to dashupdate.xbe as i have launched this file myself and it gives me the error 21. what could be causing this? is it possible i have not fully upgraded the dash and there are files that the dvd checks that hasn't been updated? or could it just be incompatible with hacked bioses or the UDE.

please please help me. krayzie or ldots where are you lol?

yeah your whole (clean) c directory makes up the complete dash. The 3 files I mentioned determine the version though. I don't know what ltools will do since I'm not that familiar with that package.

ok im gonna restore it to 4920 by putting files back, and i have created a separate topic for manual upgrading. thanks for your help krayzie, but i think that ldots is the only one that can help me.

ok what you wish. I don't understand what good it will do to put back the 4920 dash though. I'll hope the allmighty ldots can help you.

hey man don't be like that. i didn't mean to suggest that you are not as intelligent as ldots, its just that he is the author of ltools, and i am using ltools. i am grateful for all the help you have given me today and in the past.

Woah I'm confused,

I thought the normal solution was to uninstall UDe via Ltools or manually, then update dash from live / Game.

Finally reinstall ltools, making sure you put the old update.xbe in the package, then UDE will run and xbox will be right dash version so won't try to update.

That is indeed a normal procedure but our friend doesn't have his game anymore so he cannot run ltools to reinstall the ude.
