Matrix Chip Swap Mode Problem
« on: December 21, 2004, 02:40:00 PM »

A long time ago, I bought my v1.0 xbox and put the matrix chip in it. I forgot what the heck I did as far as flashing it and stuff. I don't even remember how to flash. Anyways, it's been working fine for years. The pins on the chip were in always on mode. My xbox logo always loaded up as blue color instead of green. And it would say Xecuter 2 at the bottom of the screen..I don't know why? I'm thinking that's the name of the bios? But last night, I switched the chip to swap mode because I plan on going on live someday. I'm using Evox dashboard, but when I try to eject during a game, the xbox video just quits, goes to tv static, and the light flashes green and just sits there. I push it again and it reloads the blue logo screen and back to my evox dash. I ftp'd and looked in my c drive on my xbox, and i'm showing evox.ini and evoxdash.xbe and xboxdash.xbe...Evox.ini is correct as far as pointing to xboxdash.xbe as the original xbox dash when I select MS dashboard on the evox menu. Also in my C drive, I noticed I have a backup folder instead of Bios. Now, perhaps I deleted the original xbox bios by accident? I don't understand...Any help would be appreciated!

Well bud you see there are bioses that have what is called eject trick permintaly installed into the bios.  They do how ever have files you can place somewhere on the drive to remove this I have been told.  Where they go I do not know.  Another thing is if you have evox it should flash your matrix for you to a newer version of a bios.  I would go with something like iND-bios 5003 where you can control it via a config file.  See if that will work for ya.  Also before venturing into the xbox live area try with out the NIC cable installed getting your msdashboard a run.  If that does not work you will have to fix that first before going onto the xbox live.  Also I am not 100% certaint that all bioses will disable even if they have eject trick disabled.  Just do a test and flash.  I have alot of bioses you can get any bios on #xbins and the older ones that will not play todays games are the ones with the eject trick not implmented.
