Switching Non Modded And Modded Hd's
« on: August 30, 2004, 09:51:00 PM »

My friend has an x-bit chip.
What would happen if we swithed hardrives?
He has NES and SNES games and such on his HD so when we switched then would I be the one with those games? Would it frig up my x-box because I don't have an x-bit chip?

You wouldn't be able to use another hard drive... they're locked with a key genereated by the eeprom.  It will only work in the xbox it was locked for....

this is assuming yours isn't modded.... which you seemed to imply...

just get yourself another harddrive, copy the contents of his to to it,plus ude2 files to mod  it,  and lock your hd with the eeprom hd key of your xbox.

thats it, should work. use xboxhdm.
