« on: December 16, 2004, 06:03:00 PM »

Hey all,

I power it up and it tries to boot three times and frags...but not a normal frag the led on the fronts like half green half red if it wasnt a problem it'd be neet. So all u gurus out there can ya help me? BTW i'm using a header pin.

Did you remove the pin 3 form the header install.  You need to insure you don hook the lfram to the lpc.

In the Pic it would be the closes to the R in R7r7.

Try removeing  the lframe wire from the grounded and hook it to pin three and see what happens.

Pin 3 pogo needs to be removed and take the wire and put it onto the pin 3 spot.

does lframe have to be cut in order for it to work cuz i pulled the rebuild and everything out , recconected lframe w/ a dab of solder  and voila it works normal so shes not pooched. whew.

edit: lframe to pin 3 (does lframe still have to be cut)

btw thanks for all the help wether this works or not exzir

ok now i'm finaly getting frustrated.. :grr:  this xbox is 3 shades of impossible. I re-did the lpc rebuild being super careful and making sure everythings hooked up pretty. i reflashed the chip with m8_16 instead of m8plus_16. Pin 3 is out. I tried cutting the lframe and grounding. tried hooking it up to d0 on the chip tried hooking it to pin 3 on mobo and pin 3 on the mod chip. The box wont boot. just tries 3 times then does the funky frag. I pulled the mod completely and it boots to the factory dash so the mobo's good. Tried the chip in another xbox and its good.

Heres my lpc;

O X O O O O
O X O O O O
/\
Pin 1

O = header pin
X = Not connected

At this moment lframe is not cut but its grounded.

PLEASE Help i'm dying here.
Let me rephrase HELP ME OR THE XBOX DIES...A SLOW HORRIBLE DEATH ...POSSIBLY WITH FIRE OR WATER WE'LL SEE HOW I FEEL.  :D

Ok do not hook pin 3 to the header pin that is critical.  Instead take a wire from the lower side of the cut trace and instead of grounding the wire run the wire to pin 3 of the chameleon.  I still think you wil need the plus version if you get lockups but that 1.6 version of m8 should at lease give you a flipper or part of it.

Unfortunatly I already tried that. But i will try agin in the morning when i'm not so tired. If I pull this off i'm soooo writing a tutorial. This is by far the toughest chip install yet. I could in theory just buy a new chip but...now I have to do it on principal. The xbox has challenged me and i will WIN. Or die trying (prob die trying though lol) Has anyone successfuly done this? I have been searching all weekend while waiting for my radio shack special soldering iron to heat and i have found...nuthin zip nada. Lots of matrixes but there a bit diffrent.

Big thanks to Exzir..u rock.
