Softmod Working But Need Help Pls
« on: August 27, 2004, 04:46:00 PM »

Story so far...
Ive done a bit of hotswapping, made a few images of my HD with hdd.driver, modified one image with ernie.xtf & bert.xtf from ernie_and_bert_reloaded.tgz, renamed Xbox.xtf to Xbox.xtf.old and XBox Book.xtf to XBox Book.old, inserted in /System default.xbe and evox.ini from free-xevox.rar.

Got the evox dash up and have ftp in with Flash FXP. Soldered up my points on Mobo and flashed my bios with evoxM7..everything seems fine... homebrew working ie starwars etc.... all ok.

When I select MS Dash from evox it just crashes and reboots evox..also if i insert an audio cd it crashes too....>????

What do i check in evox.ini ?? can i remove exploits now?? ie remove bert and ernie and undo my renaming of files or will this be bad?? help

Would like to get ms dash working again when i select it from evox..

Why did you flash the tsop? The UDE does everything, without soldering.

Anyway, if you're tsop flashed, just use an evox boot cd and put whatever you want in. For that matter, you could put all of your original dash files back on, and run backups, emus, etc. No need for evox really, except for ftp.

Get slayers, if you want it to be that easy to fix.

Yes.
What I'm saying is, you effectively have a modchip. This means you can have a completely empty c:\, and boot from a cd to get evox/ftp access. Then put whatever you want in.

You need to know the boot order of your bios. Does it boot c:\evoxdash, or c:\msdash, or what. Then put an appropriate xbe in place, and you're fine.
