Unlocking/relocking Via Hotswap Question

I was planning to use the Ultimate Dashboard Exploit on my XBOX, but I had a question about unlocking and relocking and also the eeprom again.  I also wanted to make sure I went through the steps correctly BEFORE I attempt this.

The first thing I wanted to know is the unlocking and relocking.  When I was reading this in the XBOXHDM read me it brought up a question:

QUOTE

First of all - if you intend to use this tool to make an xbox HD for an
soft- or un-modded xbox you need to be able to lock the drive after it
has been generated.
You therefore need either your hdd passwd (obtained from Evox or
ConfigMagic) or your xbox eeprom. With the eeprom you can generate the
unique passwd with W the Liveinfo tool from Team Assembly.

IF YOU DONT HAVE YOUR HD KEY OR EEPROM DO NOT CHOOSE OPTION 4)
ThIS WILL WIPE YOUR FATX PARTITION AND REBOOT THE MACHINE.
IF YOU HOTSWAPPED YOUR STOCK HD THEN IT WILL BE RELOCKED UPON REBOOTING
AND SINCE AT THIS STAGE IT IS NOT FUNCTIONAL IN YOUR XBOX YOU CANNOT
HOTSWAP AGAIN. BASICALLY YOU'VE GOT YOURSELF A PAPERWEIGHT...

Does this mean I should not choose option 4 for the UDE installation? or am I not able to install the UDE package alone since I cannot get my HDD Password or eeprom from my XBOX.

The second thing I wanted to ask is that I have been looking through the readme's for both the UDE and the xboxhdm, and it fails to mention where exactly I enter in the command of UDE for installation.  Where would I go about entering it in at?

Thanks for your input

When you hotswap your hdd will be correctly relocked upon reboot.  Once you have access to the hdd you can initiate the UDE install by typing UDE at the first linux prompt, (Where you can also type xbrowser, or xboxhd).

Ok, just when I thought I had everything correctly right.  Something bad happens in which I can't figure out what.

Found drive on primary master

We will now search /dev/hda for an xbox partition table...

Xbox-partition table found on /dev/hda

No UDE Folder found on CD - did you include the UDE Package?

update.xbe not found in the UDE directory

Did not find the required files in the game save dir...

Exiting!

I did the UDE -install and it didn't turn out to work, so I posted images of the folders in which I need to know if I have everything setup correctly:

I hope this helps in the understanding of helping me out

You should have put the UDE folder from the UDE 1.4 package into the same directory shown in the pic of your cd..  In the same place as C E and EEPROM you should have a UDE directory..  But everything actually looks to be installed correctly..  What happens on boot?

What happens on boot is what I quoted from in my previous message, as for the UDE package itself, I got it from the Usual Places (I dont know if I need any other files, but the rar-package was 485 kilobytes, I dont know if this is the correct size or not or if I need any other files inside outside of the UDE package.  When I got it from the usual places FTP, it was just a small rar file called UltimateDashExploit.rar), as for making the folder for it would it be along the lines of looking anything like what I have in the screenshots below?

(IMG:http://rowin.misuzu.ca:81/image/newudelayout.jpg)

As for what's inside the UDE folder, should I be placing stuff from outside of /UDE/ inside the C and E folders in the /UDE folder? ( such as taking the stuff from outside of /UDE C/ and placing it inside of here? )  right now, what you see at http://rowin.misuzu.ca:81/image/inside-ude.jpg is how I have the folder setup now. I probably am doing something wrong with this layout of how the CD will be made, but I need extensive help with this, so if anyone can supply images or edit mines to show how it is supposed to look, would be nice.

Thank you so much.

Your UDE folder is the wrong place.  You should end up with
C
E
EEPROM
UDE
etc.
All in the same directory.

Ok, I think I have everything, but to make sure I want to get this cleared up. So I will go over my layout folder by folder.

C Folder has the following folders in it (not UDE/C/)
QUOTE

AUDIO [Folder]
F0NTS (not FONTS) [Folder]
tHcData [Folder]
XBOXDASHDATA.1012A700[ Folder]
XODASH [Folder]
MODXBOXDASH.XBE
thclite.xbe
XBOXDASH.XBE
config.xvx
memoryx.xbx
SETTINGS_ADOC.XIP
BERT_ATE_ERNIE.XTF

D Folder has the following folders in it (not UDE/D/)
QUOTE

BIOSES [Folder]
CACHE [Folder]
DASHBOARDS [Folder]
TDATA [Folder]
UDATA [Folder]
boot.cfg
THUMBS.DB
BG.JPG
FONT.JPG
PHOENIX2D_LOGO1.JPG
DEFAULT.XBE

As for the eeprom folder, there is an eeprom.bin file in it that is 1kb,  I did not get my eeprom.bin file from my own XBOX, so is it safe to delete this file and possibly install the UDE exploit, or do I need this particular eeprom.bin?

The UDE Folder has (/UDE/C)
QUOTE

fønts [FOLDER]
bert_ate_ernie.xtf

Inside of /UDE/E
QUOTE

BIOSES [Folder]
boot.cfg
bg.jpg
font.jpg
phoenix2d_logo1.jpg
default.xbe

What I wanted to know is should the files in /C and /E go in /UDE/C and /UDE/E respectively? or is the layout and files like I have now the right way to go about this?

Just to make sure again, I have screenshot'ed the layout of the folders.

...more problems with this install still pop up as I go along.  The latest one now is whenever I run the UDE -install, it pops up with

update.xbe not found in the UDE directory

Did not find the required files in the game save dir...

However, I saw update.xbe in the C\XODASH folder which is not in the UDE folder.  Should I move this file and/or folder into the UDE\C folder?

Also is there a list which shows what files I need to have in what place?  for the method of which I am softmodding?  I rather be able to look at it and know what files I need to have where for refrence.
